Lomography Los Angeles Scavenger Hunt Part 2

These are pictures from the Lomography Los Angeles Scavenger Hunt
I took them with the The Nickelodeon Photoblaster Toy Camera. The Nickelodeon Photoblaster Toy Camera divides the 35mm film into four slots. (Not always evenly). It’s a good camera to photo diary with.

Celebrate Your Friends

These are my two best friends Steven Lopez and Latoya Tyson. They are my left and right hand, my art work and art shows wouldn’t happen without their help and will power to see me succeed. I don’t thank them enough take a moment to celebrate your friends.

Alarm Clock

I had bought a magnifier filter for my holga lens and I got this effect. I shot this with a holga lens on my digital camera. I like the abstractness of it and the idea of something like a boring alarm clock can be interesting.

Mamy's

I’m a big fan of the plastic lens on any camera and I shot this with a digital Rebel. I like the aged and faded look I was able to capture; it’s like an inn camera photoshop.

Crime Scene or Fun Party?

Making my morning alley stroll I was stopped by a woman sitting on her back door steps, she told me if I wanted to take pictures of this alley I would have to give her a few cigarettes; she said it was the toll fee. Then she asked me if I knew what a toll was. The recession sure makes people creative.

Heart Box Mask

This image is an outtake from my experimental class. It was shot with a holga camera and the focus and exposure was off. I fixed what I could I had to add noise to the image because the levels adjustment created banning.

Defaced Tree Trunk

This tree truck had a shape of the female body and you can sort to see at the bottom the trunk has two slits in it, not sure if it was natural or man-made, but it looked like a vagina to me. I saw a literal context of the term mother nature. I had questions about the defacing. Was this tree defacing random or did somebody else see the femininity of this tree and was offended by it?

Looking Over a Torn Wall

This was an experiment that I’m still trying out. I shot this image with my holga but I made a special mask for it only exposing half the film plane and then rewinding the film and exposing the other half. The wall in this image is really a picture of the floor but when I see it I feel like I’m peaking over a wall, looks sneaky.

Pop 9 Creative Fun

These images were shot with the Pop 9 toy camera. The Pop 9 has nine mini plastic lenses on it and takes the same image nine times. I found that words and public signs work well visually with the Pop 9 but I wanted to break up some of the repetition by inserting slots of other Pop 9 images I have taken.

Ricky With Light Leaks

I finally got an image with the creative use of a light leak, I couldn't be more thrilled. This image was shot with my holga (film) for my American Asylum project.

Second Hand Rose

The mannequins are from a thrift store in San Pedro. I found it fascinating and odd that even in a time of a down economy that sex is still needed to sell products like used clothing, digital holga capture

MsLuna

This image was taken with a Holga lens on a Canon Digital Rebel. I’m currently interested in the plastic lens and toy cameras. Drag queens translate well with a low-fi lens because they are so colorful in appearance and in spirit.

The Starcade Singers

I took a plastic lens camera to shoot a drag show, I had a speedite flash to shoot with my images. What I didn't expect was for the bar to have a hot light. I took these images while my speedlite was recycling. I like the rim light silhouette these images have, too bad they are low-fi due to the plastic lens.

Accidental Capture

I thought I had accidentally taken a picture of the floor but when I got my film back this image was on it and I sort of like it. There are these spooky smears on it.
